GenCharts provides insight into the GB power market, focussed on helping traders to monitor system balance and asset owners to understand their income & dispatch.

About me

I'm Chris Page. I spent over 20 years working in energy trading, leading physical power desks at the nuclear generators Magnox and British Energy (now EDF) before joining RWE to run the UK power analysis team and trade UK and Continental power.

I built GenCharts to get the charts I wanted but didn't have as a trader. We are lucky in GB to have one of the most transparent markets in the world. This gives us rich and complex data sources. GenCharts removes the friction of managing that complexity to present clear, explorable charts for System Balance, Balancing Mechanism Detail, Benchmarking and Skip Rates.

GenCharts is a product of Energy Context Ltd, which offers advisory services to asset owners and traders in the GB power market, using the data behind the app.
